Quince Series No 4 Anthony Connolly RP

Still life painting became a distinct genre by the16th Century and flourished in Dutch and Flemish art from the 17th Century. It still continues to fascinate artists today. Anthony Connolly’s Quince Series captures the relationship between placement, lighting and colour as well as their symbolic meaning.

‘As for the quince, it was safe and sound and still somehow holding its ground.’

‘As for the Quince’ by Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill

Anthony Connolly trained at Goldsmith’s College. He is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He has work in many public and private collections including the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, West Point Military Academy, Rhodes House and Campion Hall, Oxford.
