Marit-Geraldine-Bostad Abstract Expressionist new works ‘Young Intentions’ captures the sun. Not the pure golden sun of childhood but a more complex and conditional sun that might be associated with experience. Optimism and positivity emerge from something more opaque and unsure. The saffron and Indian yellow, vivid vermillion found in the pink palette and ultramarine of the Norwegian skies shine through layer upon layer of paint. The canvas is imbued with a sense of inner light and one feels drawn in to it. Nordic noir it most definitely isn’t.
